Plan around the house, driveway and tree cover.
The City groups Lazybrook and Timbergrove together along White Oak Bayou and describes their mid-century ranch-home setting. For a cleanup at an established property, show DW the approach and proposed placement rather than relying on a neighborhood name. Low branches, a carport, gates or a driveway turn can change what works. The delivery truck needs room beyond the footprint shown in a container diagram.
Separate a garage clear-out from a demolition load.
Boxes and bulky household items create a different load from cabinets, wall material or dense flooring. Describe both the amount and the material when requesting a quote. For concrete or dirt, ask about the dedicated 16-yard container before mixing anything into a renovation load. DW does not accept asphalt roofing material or shingles. Review other exclusions before the cleanup begins, including liquids and hazardous waste.
Leave a usable path while the project is underway.
Choose a proposed location that allows the household and contractors to move around the property while loading continues. Describe the walk from the work area, whether a rear container door could be used safely, and any vehicles that need to remain accessible. These neighborhoods include deed-restricted subdivisions, so check the requirements for your property as well as any permission needed for shared or public space.
- Keep the driver’s pickup route clear throughout the rental.
- Discuss the surface and clearance with DW before scheduling.
- Check property-specific requirements rather than assuming one rule covers both neighborhoods.
Pick the service that matches the work you want to do.
Choose dumpster rental if you plan to sort and load the material yourself. If removing furniture or carrying debris is the difficult part, ask about a crew and explain stairs, distances and bulky pieces. DW can discuss the service scope and container choice with you. Confirm rental days, weight allowance, any extra charges and pickup arrangements before the project starts.
Questions before you rent
Can I use the same dumpster for a garage cleanout and concrete?+
Do not assume mixed loading is permitted. Concrete and dirt require DW’s 16-yard container, and the material plan must be confirmed before loading. Describe household junk and heavy debris separately.
Will a container fit under my carport or trees?+
The truck’s operating clearance matters as well as the box size. Describe those obstructions and have DW review the proposed placement; a diagram alone cannot confirm delivery access.
