For a Heights kitchen or bathroom remodel, choose your dumpster by debris, volume and delivery access. DW’s 12-yard and 20-yard roll-offs are options to discuss for smaller and medium renovations. Dense material needs a separate conversation; concrete and dirt require the 16-yard container. You can request a quote without knowing the size.
A Heights remodel starts with the property.
A Heights remodel can mean updating an older home rather than starting from an empty site. The City’s Greater Heights profile describes both redevelopment and rehabilitation of older homes. The October 8, 2026 preservation agenda also listed proposed additions, siding changes and garage projects in Houston Heights districts. For homeowners, that mix makes a property-specific debris plan more useful than a one-size-fits-all recommendation.
For your project, the useful detail is how the house works. Cabinets may be carried through a side gate. Bathroom debris may come from the back of the home. A container placed close to demolition can still block the driveway you need every day. Walk the route from the work area to the proposed drop-off spot before settling on a size.

What size dumpster do I need for a Heights remodel?
Start with what is coming out, not just the room’s square footage. A cabinet replacement and a full kitchen demolition can create very different loads. Tell DW about cabinetry, drywall, wood, flooring and dense material separately, along with the approximate amount.
| Option | When to discuss it | Published dimensions |
|---|---|---|
| 12-yard | A smaller cleanup or renovation; describe bulky pieces and dense debris. | 10 ft long × 8 ft wide × 4 ft 6 in high |
| 20-yard | A medium renovation with cabinets, drywall and other bulky debris. | 16 ft long × 8 ft wide × 4 ft 6 in high |
| 30-yard | A larger or multi-room renovation that needs more volume. | 18 ft long × 8 ft wide × 6 ft high |
A 20-yard is not automatically the right fit for every kitchen. Weight, loading rules and access still matter. Compare the full dumpster size guide, or choose “Not sure” in the inquiry form and let DW help.
Start with the mess.
Help me chooseWhat to measure before you choose.
For a loose debris pile, measure its approximate length, width and height. Multiplying those measurements in feet and dividing by 27 gives an approximate volume in cubic yards. Keep a separate list of bulky cabinets and dense material because shape, packing gaps and weight can change the container choice.
For driveway placement, compare the box dimensions and then record the narrowest entrance, turns, overhead obstacles and room for the rear door. Those measurements help describe the site; the container footprint alone cannot establish truck access. Use the delivery measurement checklist before scheduling.
Will the dumpster and the truck fit?
Container dimensions are only the starting point. The delivery vehicle needs room to approach, position the box and collect it later. A narrow driveway or rear alley needs an address-specific review; another Heights home’s arrangement does not establish what works at yours.
- Describe turns, gates, parked vehicles and shared driveways.
- Point out overhead wires, tree limbs and structures along the route.
- Discuss the surface and space for loading or opening the container door.
- Keep the pickup route clear throughout the renovation.
If placement involves a street, sidewalk or shared space, confirm permission and applicable requirements before delivery. For property status and exterior-project questions, check the City’s historic-preservation resources; do not assume every Heights address has the same rules. Our delivery preparation guide covers the practical drop-off checklist.
Keep heavy and prohibited material out of the wrong box.
Concrete and dirt require DW’s designated 16-yard container. Ask about tile, masonry or a mixed load before deciding where it belongs. More volume does not mean more permitted weight.
DW’s published exclusions include asphalt roofing material and shingles, tires, liquids and paint cans, gases or compressed chemicals, hazardous or medical waste, and carcasses. Review the materials and loading rules before demolition. When the debris changes, check with DW before adding it.
How much does a dumpster rental in the Heights cost?
Your quote needs to match the container, debris, address and rental window. Ask for the complete total and what could change it. Get more than a starting rate.
- Are delivery and pickup included?
- How many rental days and how much disposal weight are included?
- What are the extra-day and overweight charges?
- Which taxes or other fees apply?
- Is any loading help priced separately?
We do not publish a fixed Heights rate because DW confirms the current price for your actual project. The rental pricing guide explains how to compare quotes on the same terms.

Discuss delivery before cabinets, drywall or flooring start coming out. For work happening in phases, explain when the debris will be generated and how long you expect to load. Confirm how extensions and pickup are arranged rather than assuming the container will stay indefinitely.
If carrying debris is the bigger problem, ask about junk removal or loading help. A self-load dumpster rental does not automatically include a crew. For more project guidance, see Houston remodeling dumpster rentals.
Questions before your Heights remodel
Is a 20-yard dumpster big enough for a Heights kitchen remodel?+
It is an option to discuss for a medium renovation, but room count alone cannot establish the fit. Describe the cabinets, drywall, flooring and bulky pieces, plus any dense material. DW will help compare the container with your debris, access and loading requirements. Concrete and dirt require the designated 16-yard option.
Can I rent a small dumpster for a Heights bathroom remodel?+
DW’s smallest published roll-off is the 12-yard container. It may be worth discussing for a smaller renovation, but heavy tile, masonry and other dense debris need a material-specific review. DW does not list a 10- or 15-yard roll-off in its current lineup.
Can a dumpster be delivered to a narrow driveway or alley?+
That needs a review of your actual property. A space that holds the container may still lack room for the delivery truck or lifting operation. Tell DW about turns, gates, overhead obstacles, the surface and shared access before agreeing on placement.
Can I request next-day dumpster delivery in the Heights?+
DW advertises next-day service, but your container, address and timing must be confirmed directly with the team. Call if demolition is close, and explain the material and access. Sending a form is a quote request, not a reserved delivery slot.
Rental inquiries go to DW Companies, the service provider. Your quote, material acceptance, placement and delivery timing are confirmed directly with the team.
